esus made quite a spectacle up
on the cross. I mean, it's not every day you get to crucify your Savior. So naturally many
people came to see this event and this is what was heard.
"This is the best example yet of why we need a death penalty!" righteously fumed a persecutor, "If we did this to all the troublemakers, everything would be fine!"
"Some people just can't be happy. Be happy, young man! We are each responsible for our own happiness. You created your situation!"
"This is so cool!" gaped two masturbating teenage boys. "Evil rules!"
"They are so cool!" said the boys' girlfriends.
The fashionable crowd booed him as they passed. "He is so out of touch with reality."
"I'm sure he wouldn't be up there if he didn't deserve it."
"We need to educate people more on what is and is not acceptable behavior. Education is the key to everything."
"I'm not having any problems. Why should he?"
"Just who does he think he is?"
This brings up the interesting point that the vast majority of Jesus' murderers never even touched him. Yet his blood is still upon their head and hands. I wonder how many of them viewed themselves as killers. For being at a trial, they probably thought they were taking civic responsibility, much as we think today. But not only are those who were present guilty of this crime, all who believe as they did are also guilty. Which just goes to show, you don't have to actually touch someone to kill them. You can kill them with your values.
