Lazarus and the Rich Man

here was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a begger named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
- Luke 16:19-21

A beggar lying at his gate and he shares no food? It's seems so unreasonable! But listen to what the rich man said to Lazarus when the beggar asked for food:

"I've been where you are, now look at me! What's your excuse? Your behavior is criminal! It is irresponsible! No one respects a man who cannot take care of himself. Get a job! I guess you think it's okay for others to work, just not you, huh? If you want to eat, pursue money!"

The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. In hell, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.

- Luke 16:22-23

Then Lazarus could answer the rich man now when the rich man could understand. "Which is the crime: To have no money - or to force others to have money? And which is responsible: The pursuit of money - or the pursuit of heaven?"

And the rich man understood too late.
